“Mnemosyne” (Gk: Mνημοσύνη, pronounced [mnɛːmosýːnɛː]) is the Greek goddess of memory, and mother of the nine Muses. The prefix meta- connotes succession and transcendence, the beyond and the afterwards — what comes later, in a “more highly organized or specialized form” (Merriam-Webster).
